The Save the Rhino Trust is busy with a new initiative to raise money. A group of 18 people will be traveling 360 km per bicycle.

Five staff members of Rhino Africa Safaris in South Africa and 13 cyclists will start their journey on 24 July and end a week later on the 30th.  The cyclists who entered for the Challenge4aCause, will be cycling around 50 km a day and they hope to raise N$200 000.

David Ryan, Managing Director of Rhino Africa Safaris, is excited. It’s not everyday one has the opportunity to see the beauty of a country and to support such a philanthropic cause.  The route will start at Palmwag-lodge to the Ugab River, at Save the Rhino-camp. From there they will travel past the Doros-crater to the Goantagab River, which will take them to the end of their destination.

After a huge success last year, raising N$300 000, the organisers decided to open the challenge to the public. Entry forms costs R18 000 and includes flights, food, accommodation, as well as medical and technical support. Other than that, entrants have to each raise N$20 000.

Tickets are being sold at N$20 per tickets and a lot of prices are up grabs, including a Namibian holiday and six bottles of red wines
